Savor the Doubletree Cookies Without the Hotel Stay

There are many of you who have traveled all over the country for business or leisure, and at some point, you have had a stay at the Doubletree Hotel. Upon check-in you are greeted with a warm, decadent cookie that gives you great satisfaction and comfort after a long trip by car or air. Ever wanted that feeling again, but at home? You can now! The cat is out of the bag with this Doubletree Hotel Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe:

Doubletree Hotel Chocolate Chip Cookies:

- 3 sticks of Butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 3/4 cup Brown Sugar, packed
- 2 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice, fresh
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup Rolled Oats, uncooked
- 3/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 3 cups Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1 1/2 cups Walnuts, chopped

Cream butter and both sugars in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs, one at a time into butter mixture until blended. Add in the salt, cinnamon, and baking soda and mix well into batter. Add vanilla and lemon juice and combine. Stir in the rolled oats. Sift flour and add to mixture until incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts. Refridgerate cookie dough for 1-2 hours before baking (this is important because you don't want super flat cookies). On prepared cookie sheets or baking pans, measure each cookie at 1/8th of a cup or 2 tablespoons, about 2-3 inches apart to allow for spreading, as these cookies are larger than average. Bake the cookies at 375 degrees for about 13 minutes depending on your oven. Allow cookies to cool on wire racks.

These cookies are one of the recipes that made me well known to many of my friends and colleagues as a great baker, and it's only escalated from there! Show everyone you gourmet skills with these cookies and they'll be begging for more.
